The battle's fierce today, Satan is stronger;
The cry of that battle is louder than before.
The rebel voice of hell becomes more severe,
But midnight cry resounds, I quickly come!
Trials grow more bitter, fighting doth enlarge;
Hell rallies their powers and gathers for the charge.
Yet while we wait and watch, feel the war severe,
Hear the joyful song rings, Jesus Lord is near!
Harder to testify His word at the end,
Satan fights with all His pow'r, our witness to defy.
Much greater strength we need, the foe to o'ercome;
Happy when the Lord comes, all our sighing's done.
Who then will forward go, thru his mighty pow'r?
Who will firmly trust the Lord 'til the vict'ry hour?
Till with the Conqu'rors blest, triumph song's begun?
That man rejoices to hear, I quickly come!
Who then will choose God's best, take the narrow track,
Passing thru the wild storms, yet never turning back?
Who now will dare press on, endure pain and fear?
Such will rejoice to see, Jesus Lord is near!
Though deep the darkness be, We would onward go,
Till the day of rapture greet, glory 'round shall glow!
'Tis there we'll see the Lord, Satan overcome;
Overcomers rejoice, Jesus Lord, has come!
