For me to live is Christ,
To die is gain for me,
Glad to bear cross, shame as glory,
Seems sad yet rejoicing.
Heav'n is my glorious home,
Earth draws my love no more!
Shelter by night, journey by day,
Closer to home each day.
I would follow Jesus,
Glad to walk in His way,
Keep Father's will, joy in hardships,
Shame will my glory be.
Sunrise on yonder hills,
Fills me with living joy!
All darkness will soon disappear,
Brightness will be my home.
When my journey has end,
When gone are grief and pain,
No earthly love shall hold my heart,
Make haste to take my crown.
